In Seven Languages

By: Florentin Smarandache

In the course of the last decade of second millenium I began an intensive correspondence with poets, writers, and translators from around the world. ]\0 restrictions by any political system were imposed to me and no fear. It was like a lyrical fiesta that I enjoyed, .. This poetry volume, in seven languages, is a result of my "aggressive" cooperation and thousands of letters I sent (and received) between 1990-2000 since I exiled to and lived in America. In February 1991 I was invited to give a speech and read some of my literary creation at the Moorhead State University in Minnesota. With that occasion. the students in French and Spanish classes translated several of my poems: Chris Raymond, Marcia Melrose, Shannon Dyrud, and Carmen Kinnischtcke. Even more, Teresinka Pereira, President of International Writers and Artists Association, published my first Spanish booklet, . .Inventario del general malo", 1991, and my first Portuguese booklet. ,.Fanatico", 1989. I have randomly contributed to various international journals and anthologies of v•erse. Whatever address fell in my hands. I sent it poems. Thus, Virginia Rhodas from Buenos A...

According to the Dictionary of Mathematics (Borowski and Borwein, 1991 [1]), the paradox is “an apparently absurd or self-contradictory statement for which there is prima facie support, or an explicit contradiction derived from apparently unexceptionable premises”....

As shown, experiments registered unmatter: a new kind of matter whose atoms include both nucleons and anti-nucleons, while their life span was very short, no more than 10-20sec. Stable states of unmatter can be built on quarks and anti-quarks: applying the unmatter principle here it is obtained a quantum chromodynamics formula that gives many combinations of unmatter built on quarks and anti-quarks....

Collected Papers, Vol. 3

By: Florentin Smarandache

This representation is closer to the human mind reasoning. It characterizes/ catches the imprecision of knowledge or linguistic inexactitude received by various observers (that's why T, I, F are subsets - not necessarily single-clements), Uncertainty due to incomplete knowledge or acquisition errors or stochasticity (that's why the subset I exists), and vagueness due to lack of clear contours or limits (that's why T, I, Fare subsets and I exists; in particular for the appurtenance to the neutrosophic sets)....

Science and Art resemble Horace’s concordia discors (discordant harmony) from his “Epistles” and both are built on imagination. Imagination is a quality given a man to compensate him for what he is not, and a sense of humor was provided to console him for what he is (Oscar Wilde). Every great advance in science has issued from a new audacity of imagination (John Dewey). And similarly for the advance in art and letters....

Helluo Librorum : Fise de Lecturi

By: Florentin Smarandache

Excerpts from newspapers, magazines, pamphlets, books - everything I fall in hand. This volume contains quotes from some 1,000 authors, in Romanian, with some exceptions in French or English, and covers approximately 1856 pages. Readings and choices of metaphors, expressions, ideas are of course subjective - after my taste of the time. And today used to read with pen in hand, noting that I like my metaphors in poetry and ideas, aphorisms and short sentences of prose, essays, drama. Collection and heard expressions of folklore. The books emphasize scientific and write it down on edge about possible generalization of concepts or theorems found that later I will guide you towards writing an article or a book....

Paradoxism's Manifestos and International Folklore

By: Florentin Smarandache

The book is structured in two parts as follows: - in the first part, the theory of paradoxism through its first six published worldwide manifestos (1983, 1984, 1990, 1998, 2002, and 2010 respectively); - in the second part, the paradoxism collected from the international (English, French, Spanish/Arabic, and Romanian) folklore in images and paradoxist situations. ...

A) Folkloric Begining. It was in the years 1980’s when the paradoxist movement started. Together with childhood friends (I use their nicknames, since these are more colorfull: Cost, Geonea, Beca, Bigioc, Piciu, Boros, Covrig ăl mijlociu, Cris, Pilă, Chesa, Grasu, Babanu) in the little parks and restaurants of Bălcești – Vâlcea drinking beer and joking. They did not like to read or write!... They all were non-literators {excepting me and Co(n)st(antin) Dincă}. We built a new literary movement without even knowing – in a paradoxical way! We did it by jokes, against-the-grain speech, amusing themselves in that bad time! I had written in Romanian language the volume „Laws of internal composition. Poems with... problems!” (1982) as a preparadoxist volume, published lately. But the First Paradoxist Manifesto in the world of the Paradoxism I published in 1983 in the first edition of my French volume The Sense of the Nonsense (Ed. Artistiques, Fès, Morocco). ...

Paradoxism Si Folcor

By: Florentin Smarandache

ACTUALITATEA PARADOXISMULUI Prefață Polemici privind paradoxismul și diverse interviuri vă prezentăm ȋn prima parte a acestei cărți. Ȋn cea de-a doua parte, veți constata actualitatea paradoxismului ȋn FOLCLORUL contemporan. Nimic nu-i perfect, nici chiar perfectul! sau: Nimic nu-i absolut, nici chiar absolutul!

Of course, I now look at us invective of the mob clan and his acolytes (executioners service). With cȃt ȋnjură louder with their new stăpȃni pharma ȋi plȃtesc better. But ȋmi will be pleased to answer them! Provocȃndu me they ȋmi maintain creative verve. Life Strategies Part Three : Theatrical & Non-Novel Strategies

By: Florentin Smarandache

This small book, which is rather a draft, comprises a collection of ideas, viewpoints and methods in various aspects of theater, performance arts, non-novel1 etc. If for no other reason, the ideas listed here at least can stimulate further thoughts and research – for instance, young writers may use these ideas to make his/her drama or novel more enthralling....

• The best functions of the theatre are none! (but the theatre itself); • Fatal attraction theatre; • A personage has a man’s mask taped on his bottom which faces the spectators and “talks” like this; • On a cross is crucified a book, or a lamb, or a pork, other object (crucified with the legs up) [which should symbolize something]; • On stage, place some cosmic objects (for example make visible a part of the Earth, or a Lunar Base, …); • Theatre for deaf and mute people (with their International Sign Language); • Theatre for blind people (only sounds); • The difference between the place where the play is performed and the place where, in fact, it should be played. (Specify in the play: winter instead of summer, in the mountains instead of at the Sea, for example – as in paradoxism) ...

Life Strategies Part Two : Literature

By: Florentin Smarandache

If for nothing else, the (random) sentences listed here at least can stimulate further thoughts and ideas – for instance, young writers and artists may find plenty of interesting ideas for their next literary work (or best-selling novels) in ‘Experimental Literature’ section. In a sense, this book itself is an experimental one. Needless to say, the readers may find that some of these ideas are quite absurd or seemingly outlandish ...

• Literary disorder; • Self abandonment; • Be an action man; • Abstract theatre (Felix Aderca); • The auto-destruction and the death of literature (Adrian Marino); antipoetic, antiauthor, anti-talent, anti-vocation; the surpassing of the literature; anti-literature; ultraliterature; par-literature; a-literature; “On one side, nothing is literature, on the other side everything is or could be literature. The notion of literary genus disappears.” The literature condition = the total elimination of the idea of intention, value, and hierarchy; • How is good to be? The rule of RQC: Read, quoted, commented; • A music score in poetry; • Travel a lot for inspiration...

Defeated Tree

By: Florentin Smarandache

A collection of short stories, children's stories, short theatre, and verses.

“Come on, Craiova; come on, students!” “Come on and score!” (They had failed to score.) The score was still close. The blue flags waved in the grandstands. The spectators made caps out of the newspapers – which they hadn’t bothered to read. (The papers, after all, had been specially printed for the match.) “Get your roasted sunflower seeds!” “Get your peanuts!” At the central stadium the places were occupied three to four hours before the beginning of the game. The chief of the gallery, Ostrovski, set the tone: “Go, go, Ştiin-ţa [Science]!” (To a spectator next to him): “Cheeky boy. Why don’t you yell? If you’re not going to show your support, then get out of here!” Some spectators wore blue- and white-striped caps with “University” emblazoned on the peaks. The students screamed at an ear-splitting volume. The stand was like an erupting volcano. “Go, Dynamo!” one screamed, as a bottle smashed over his head. It was an unequal duel between the galleries. On the turf, the crowd boiled over with excitement. “Huuuuu!”...

Caution : I Drive Like You Do! (Collection of American Paradoxist Folklore)

By: Florentin Smarandache

I have collected this beautiful American Folklore - under the form of aphorisms - from car plates, from various anonymous postings, from expressions heard in my discussions, from e-mails received, etc. Computer jokes, life taken upside-down, job related reflections, family connections, inside-out clichés of language, and so on. They are in a paradoxist style, or close, and full of humor… Some of them are cascading Murphy’s Laws (pessimistically), others are opposite - like Peter’s Laws (optimistically). Their sweetness smiles in the face of adversity, full of irony and auto-irony. I hope readers will enjoy them....

See a few nice examples from the book text: “I think, therefore I’m single”, “Life is short, break some rules”, or “Black Holes are Where God Divided by Zero”!...
