In 2010, the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine became the newest. The largest institution is Liberty University, with over 56,000 students. Stratford College was an all female college in Danville, Virginia. Founded in 1854 as Danville Female College. Later was called Randolph Macon School for Girls. In 1904 It became Stratford College. It was a junior college. Later it became a four year college, but closed due to financial problems in 1974.
