Only the one who is himself ‘free from attachments’ can help us attain a state ‘free from attachments.’ One cannot attain a state ‘free from attachments’ by merely trying for it. By seeing & understanding the one who is ‘free from attachments’, a state ‘free from attachments’ starts generating within us. A state ‘free from attachments’ is the state that one experiences internally despite of worldly interactions. After attaining Knowledge of Self, abhorrence goes away. Then even if someone insults or causes damage, intent to take revenge doesn’t arise. Every favourable-unfavourable person or situation is dealt with equanimity. It is then that follower starts experiencing the state ‘free from attachments’. Worldly interaction of one who is ‘Self Realized’ & one who is ‘Ignorant of Self’ appears to be same externally but internally the one who is ‘Ignorant of Self’ constantly indulges into attachment-abhorrence & the one who is Self Realized is ‘free from attachments’.
