Excerpt
Nonetheless it is said that within all stories is buried a fact of truth and for those who are willing to find it great rewards can be had. Allaina Rose is one of those people who learned early in life while searching for her biological parents that fact and fiction are often so entwined, a degree of reality manifests enough to discover the raw cold truth. *** Alberta Rose spread the old map out on her desk. A pile of books found only in the library of The Southern Alberta University of Ancient Science and Technology stood next to the map. Some of the books were hand written journals of people who had gone in search of Lemon’s Gold mine dating back a century and a quarter. She was most interested at that moment in finding the exact location of Frank Lemon and Blackjack’s final camp site where Lemon sank an axe into his partners scull. More importantly she was interested in the native chief who had cursed the region. Are there any descendants? If there are descendants could they act as a guide up through the Livingston Range? Alberta Rose cringed. “Why does everything have to have a curse?”
