Description
Holding on a thing is essentially to recognize the cause and effect in its evolution. The combinatorial notion implied in words of the sophist in the fable of the blind men with an elephant, is a philosophic notion recognizing things with only the local knowing. Under this notion, this book surveys the quantitative knowing of things, starts with the universal questions raised by children, explains the understanding of things including the reference frame, relativity, system with synchronization, non-harmonious system with non-solvable equations, complex network, etc., and the role of science under the harmonious coexistence of humans with the nature, which is a systematic review on mathematical science and philosophy, suitable for researchers in mathematics, systems, physics and science's philosophy.
