Excerpt: The adhesive is to be a 100% non-volatile viscous adhesive activated to begin drying by exposure to UV light in the 300 to 350 nm range. It is applied under pressure through a small opening onto the surface of sewed cotton thread binding together the pages of a small book. As the book leaves the applicator it is immediately exposed to UV light to polymerize and harden the adhesive before the book is closed or comes in contact with another surface.
